HeyDoc! 1.8.4 is a simple tool which makes it easy to record and keep track of you and your family's medical history.
The process starts by creating a "Profile" for the person whose history you'd like to enter first. This only takes a moment - choose "New Profile" in the "Select a profile" list, enter a user name, optionally add an image - and then you can begin work.
Click the various links on the left-hand sidebar (Name, Doctors, Medical History, Diet Diary and so on), start filling in the forms, and you'll immediately begin to see how useful this can be. There are entries to store your blood type, for instance; your doctor's phone number, and past and upcoming appointments; diet records which track your calorie intake over time; dates, times and the details of any worrying symptoms which might crop up occasionally; information on any prescriptions you're taking, immunization records, and more.
A Charts module makes it easy to monitor you or your family in various ways. There are options to enter blood pressure, weight, sleep, glucose, cholesterol, infant length or weight, a child's height, and many more, then plot the results.
There's some aspect of your medical history which isn't covered? Not a problem. HeyDoc! also allows you to attach files to any record, so keeping all your data together in one place.
If you need to share all of this with someone - you're going to the doctor, say, and want to show them records with the precise details of everything you're saying - then you can print some or all of the pages in just a few clicks.
And perhaps best of all, version 1.85 includes a tweak which seems to have entirely eliminated the "HeyDoc! has encountered an error" message, which appeared on some systems whenever you launched the program or changed profiles. At least, that was the experience on our test PC, where we couldn't reproduce the problem, whatever we tried. So if you were put off by this issue before, try Hey Doc! 1.8.5 and everything should work just fine.
Verdict:
The annoying error message is a problem, but otherwise HeyDoc! is an excellent tool for collecting and monitoring medical histories
